Arnold invites SRK

Shahrukh Khan the Bollywood superstar, who has millions of fans all around the world, is been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The incident of him being detained in the US airport. He was questioned for two hours. His fans have reacted sharply, by accusing the US officials of racial profiling. A very unpleased SRK was seen speaking to the media about his ordeal in the US. A recent development is that the governor of California Arnold has invited SRK for dinner. He invited SRK when he was about to leave for India. Hopefully this friendly gesture will put this unpleasantness to rest.

A PC in your pocket

A computer that utilizes an electronic pen (called a stylus) rather than a keyboard for input. Pen computers generally require special operating systems that support handwriting recognition so thatusers can write on the screen or on a tablet instead of typing on a keyboard. Most pen computers are hand-held devices, which are too small for a full-size keyboard. The pen has other cool tools. The special paper has a calculator printed on it, and if you tap its "buttons," the pen will perform math problems. Draw a piano keyboard, and the pen will play notes as you tap the keys. A translation tool, which will allow users to write a word in English and get a translation in Spanish, should be available in mid-2009. It's called the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen, and it contains an audio recorder and a tiny infrared camera that records everything the pen writes.

Californian Wildfire Emergency

Thousands of people in California are leaving their homes as a wildfire threatens the town of Santa Barbara. The rapidly moving blaze has burned more than 500 acres, leading California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to declare a state of emergency. Some 13,000 people have been ordered to evacuate as the blaze comes perilously close to the town centre. The blaze is being investigated as possible arson, and three fire fighters are in hospital with injuries. Santa Barbara, with its idyllic climate and lush countryside, is often referred to as the American Riviera. But in the past 24 hours, the seaside town has been engulfed by fire. TV pictures show flames destroying several large hillside properties in the exclusive region. US media reports say at least 20 structures have been destroyed and some 2,000 homes are threatened.
